A New Name for Schizophrenia?

ANOIKSIS IS A LEADER IN THE FIELD OF LOOKING FOR A NEW NAME FOR SCHIZOPHRENIA.

Many others have written about their dissatisfaction with the prevailing terminology, which is entrenched in the public mind and in the diagnostic handbooks – handbooks such as the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and the World Health Organisation’s International Classification of Diseases (ICD). Anoiksis has held a nationwide competition to find a new name and we would be pleased to hear of others who have done the same or are planning to do so.
